Reported via desktop in the Road Potholes category by Ozgur Koz at 12:25, Wed 2 April 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 421435.
There is a 1-meter-long and 20 cm deep pothole on the road. As seen in the photos, the pothole is larger than a car tire and deeper than a beer can. My tire exploded with a loud bang upon hitting it.
At the time, a vehicle from the opposite lane was attempting to overtake a lorry, leaving me with no room to maneuver. I was forced into a near head-on collision at a combined speed of 100 mph.
This is a severe safety hazard, putting lives at risk. A pothole of this size on a national road is completely unacceptable and must be addressed immediately before it causes a serious accident.
