I hope this is the right department to contact. We live beside the Flit vale Walk, my house is behind it, and have a galvanised metal gate with a catch, originally installed to prevent livestock access. We are licensed dog breeders with five dogs at home, and the noise from the gate slamming—particularly the loud clanging of the catch—has become a growing issue. It happens several times a day as people pass through, which agitates the dogs and, understandably, disturbs our neighbours. There are no longer any sheep or cattle in this area—only horses, which are securely fenced in—so we would like to request that the catch on the gate be either removed or padded to reduce the noise. I’m happy to carry out the work myself but would appreciate your permission or advice on how best to proceed. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Jill Chestnut lodge Church Road Westoning
