From the roundabout turning left from the B440 onto the A505
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category by Stephen Dix at 16:16, Wednesday 21 May 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 423254.
On each carriageway there is a sealed join. Heading towards the next roundabout the joint has deteriorated to such an extent that in places the groove form is 3" to 4" inches wide and the same deep. This needs urgently repairing as it is deep and wide enough to capture a front wheel of a motorcycle and WILL cause a serious accident. It is exactly where a motorcyclist should be positioned correctly on the road, I have reported this before but heard nothing back,

Currently ongoing works on the bypass. Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx
Many thanks,
