Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7689777.
At the start of FP1 where it beginning at Pulloxhill Road Greenfield, the Kissing Gate has rotted & collapsed. Somebody has dragged it out of the way, but now there is no gate to the field from the road across from Greenfield Lower School. It is next to a field metal gate that now no longer has anything to close against. See rotten wood in photos.

Thank you for your report. Stiles and gates across public rights of way are the landowner's responsibility under Section 146 of the Highways Act 1980 rather than the Council's https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ ukpga/ 1980/ 66/ section/ 146 Stiles and gates are also only authorisable under Section 147 of the Highways Act where they are needed to control the movement of livestock https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ ukpga/ 1980/ 66/ section/ 147. So if there is no livestock in the field, the gate is not needed and it is fine to just have a gap. The landowner will install a field gate post if he needs one.
