2 rothschild Road

Reported via mobile in the Overhanging private property category anonymously at 23:41, Tuesday 10 June 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 423980.

Are you guys for real. I pay thousands of pounds in council tax and your tree is half hanging over my front garden killing my grass, and you're asking me to get a professional to cut down the branches and dispose of them??? Are you asking me to pay for the professional and the disposal? Why do I pay council tax? I wonder why your first comment is 'be polite' lol How can we be polite when you take the piss out of us. Seriously! How do you people sleep at night knowing you take our money and give us nothing in return???

  • Thank you for your Highways report.

The policy regarding overhanging branches is dictated by Common Law set by the Crown Court. We acknowledge that it might be frustrating, but trees have certain protections that dissuade pruning that is not safety critical.

Our revenue budget distribution is available online, 3.3% is assigned to conduct reactive maintenance on the road and Rights of Way networks. This includes all street lights, bridges, surfaces, etc.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
