Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7698790.

Footpath blocked by new hedge being grown can only access right of way by trampling crops and pushing through new saplings. Right of way not maintained. Please confirm this is still a right of way as it links up to further public footpaths also not maintained and you have to trample over crops. Thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for your report. This is Public Footpath no. 34, Cranfield. We have online mapping on our Council website here under My maps - https://my.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ mycentralbeds.aspx - choose Rights of way from the left hand check list and zoom in or search by address. The zoom level is restricted to a certain level. The path is a field edge path so there should be 1.5 metres left uncropped along the edge of the field. There should be no hedge plants obstructing the route. I will take a look and do a H M Land Registry search to identify the landowner and contact them if anything needs rectifying. Thanks for letting us know. Our public rights of way pages with more information are here:- https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ / info/ 82/ countryside/ 431/ rights_of_way
