Abbey Lane Left Side Exiting Ampthill

Reported via iOS in the Road Potholes category by Susan Clinch at 20:46, Sun 15 June 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 424165.

Series of cracks extending from road edge into carriageway, many enlarged and deep, about every 15 metres starting at 40mph terminus to beyond national dipped limit. These cracks cross the road line for cyclists, forcing cyclists into the carriageway or towards the road edge. Some are of width and depth to risk unseating cyclists or force swerving into the carriageway. This is from personal experience. Risk of injury to vulnerable road users on well used cycle route which is only minor road south exit from Ampthill.
