Hitchin road path, in between Fairfield and Stotfold
Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 08:49, Fri 20 June 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 424345.
The cycle path along Hitchin road between Fairfield and Stotfold ( the only route to get to school for children who live in Fairfield) is so narrow and difficult to navigate at the best of times especially as it is all over grown with thorn bushes at the moment . Could these be cut back please? It’s very dangerous as trying to dodge these bushes could easily lead to someone falling into the busy road.

Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP). This work is with our contractors and due for completion imminently. We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx
Many thanks,
