The lane at this point and about 10m either side is filled with a number of large potholes, diameter 100cms+ in some cases. Asphalt and substrate has completely failed. Passable to agricultural vehicles and 4x4 only in wet weather. I previously reported this in 2024. work was scheduled by CBC highways but then the report was Closed in April 2025 with no action having being taken. I initially reported these potholes in 2024 when an ambulance on 999 call was concerned to drive on this damaged road surface for fear of getting stuck / damaged.

    We are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.
