Pavements in Churchill Road
Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 17:04, Friday 27 June 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 424636.
Weeds and grass cover large areas of the pavements, especially outside nos 22 and 23 and has been bad for at least two years.Soon the whole pavement will be covered. Very dangerous when wet or frosty, especially for all the elderly people in the road and those using walking aids. Tylecote Close has grassed areas which are trimmed and no weeds etc are on the pavements. Why is Churchill Road so bad? Visitors are disgusted at the state of our pavements, it’s like walking through a field.

We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx
