Conifers on side boundary to 16 Wilsheres Road
Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 12:22, Tue 8 July 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 425069.
The conifers significantly overhang highway and also screen a street lamp. The needle drop is excessive and on three separate occasions I have filled three garden sacks and taken it upon myself to book a time at tidy tip. Today, having cleared the footpath for over an hour I have 'uncovered' half of the footpath width (see damp area of where needle drop was). Reducing the overhang will reduce needle drop and would provide better illumination to the highway by revealing the street lamp more fully.

Update on your report:
We have made contact with the landowner before to enforce some hedge cutbacks. We are not requuired to enforce that hedges are cut back to reduce/prevent leaf/needle drop, however we can enforce it is cut back if blocking a streetlight, visibility from the junction or encroaching the path.
Many thanks,
