Outside 7 Hillcrest
Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 11:52, Sunday 20 July 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 425487.
The drain outside seven Hillcrest keeps overflowing when it’s heavy rain the last time we had lots of heavy rain the water almost reached our property so it certainly blocked it. The first time in almost 8 years of living here we’ve had water up to almost the front door rising up with all the lots of water and rain we’ve had recently I don’t want to be coming in our property.

Update on your report:
We plan to inspect the site during the next instance of significant rainfall, to allow a full assessment of the issue before any decision is made.
Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low-lying area, this generally clears away over a matter of hours.
Many thanks,

Update on your report:
After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair. We will continue to monitor the defect during future inspections and carry out works should it meet our intervention levels in future.
With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
