Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 425545.
Good afternoon,
I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding Stratton Way, Biggleswade. Since my partner and I moved to this street in August 2024, we have witnessed alarming instances of excessive speeding. It is not uncommon for motorists to travel well above 30mph.
This poses a significant risk to residents, particularly given that the road is in poor condition and is located near three schools, including a special educational needs (SEN) school.
The presence of families, children, and pets in the area further heightens the danger. I have personally had a near miss with a speeding vehicle.
I urge the council to take immediate action by implementing speed bumps or other effective traffic calming measures to ensure the safety of everyone in our community. Preventative measures now could avert a potential catastrophe.
I appreciate your time and attention to this matter and look forward to hearing what steps can be taken to address these concerns.
Kind regards,
Kieren
