Footbridge over the stream near Shillington Church

Reported via desktop in the Public Rights of way category anonymously at 11:38, Tue 22 July 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7915520.

The barrier to the East Side of the footbridge is very wobbly and loose and if someone leans on it may collapse into the stream causing an accident.

Updates

  • I will do a site visit to ascertain what works are required.

  • This Bridge is a health and safety hazard. I can't believe it has not been inspected since I reported it almost 4 months ago. When is it going to be visited please?

  • It was inspected a couple of weeks ago by myself and a colleague. At the same time, we also cleared a fallen tree by hand that was completely obstructing the bridleway. We will be ordering the work for the repair to be done as soon as we have a quote back from the contractor.
