Priory Road pedestrian crossing point near its junction with Church St

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category by Nigel Brereton at 10:30, Tuesday 29 July 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 425816.

The extra wide traffic calming ‘hump’ which doubles as pedestrian crossing point needs Tactile pavers installed at each wait point. The Blind can’t know it’s a designated crossing if their canes/ their feet don’t feel the guidance underfoot.

  • Update on your report:

After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair. We will continue to monitor the defect during future inspections and carry out works should it meet our intervention levels in future.

With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
