Greensand Ridge Walk
Reported via mobile in the Public Rights of way category anonymously at 12:35, Fri 1 August 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7965298.
The public footpath is heavily overgrown causing the overgrowth to encroach on residential properties. It is preventing people from accessing the short cut and has now been foul of fly tipping.

Thank you for your report. We do have a public rights of way grass cutting schedule but unfortunately have a very small budget and so cannot afford to cut everything. We increasingly rely on local volunteers to help us maintain the network https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 82/ countryside/ 433/ countryside_volunteers - unfortunately there is only one volunteer in Ampthill and we would hope others would get involved. I can consider adding the path to the grass cutting contract next year (budget allowing) and see if a colleague can help clear the path this summer. In terms of flytipping, this should be reported to Environmental Services - their webpage includes a link to their contact form. https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 172/ fly-tipping/ 606/ report_fly-tipping_or_illegal_waste_dumping Many thanks for your interest in this matter.
