The very large Ceeder tree opposite 26 Hitchin Road Shefford on thr grass verge is about 75 to 80 percent dead. This is the same type of tree that branches came down in the park in Southend. It's being dying over the last few years. Could someone please have it looked at it for its stability as it is very close to houses and Hitchin Road Shefford. Thank you
Thank you

Hello - we inspected the trees a few weeks back (as well as the cedar opposite No.20 with the low hanging branch across the road). Although the tree at No.20 is in decline, it is not dead, and I didn't note any obvious structural issues requiring immediate action. There is a reasonable amount of dead wood within the canopy which can be removed.
The tree belt is protected by TPO, so most pruning work beyond remedial safety work would require approval from our Planning team. We will discuss this tree with them to determine whether we can carry out these works. Many thanks
