As the previous report - Council ref: 420798 has been closed with no further action, although you advise it will be monitored. A second request was made Council ref: 421291 and a temporary repair was completed on the instructions of the visiting engineer.

I have to report that the relatively recent temporary repair has failed and we are therefore back in the same situation. This pothole is constantly full of water, even though for some time we have had minimal rain and therefore any temporary repair is not going to last long. Other large repairs in this same area are constantly wet and these areas seem to be increasing in size. The water on the surface has been a problem for some years now and is causing the road surface to deteriorate. Clearly the problem is not going away and needs resolving.

As previously highlighted when traffic passes through this particular pothole there is an almighty thud, which is amplified when larger vehicles i.e. lorries or buses pass and is being experience by residence on both sides of the road..

This fault is also obstructing legitimate off road parking for the residence.

The water within the hole is showered approx. 5 feet in the air and over a similar area every time a vehicle drives through it. This not only showers unexpected pedestrians with dirty water, but also covers the cars parked locally with the same water and stones from the repair. This road is in constant use by pedestrians and traffic, as it is a main route through the village. With the extensive work being carried out in the village and diversions in place means the traffic using Church Street has increased considerably.

Note: Road surfacing and line painting of the road was planned recently, but was cancelled at short notice. Could this be a result of a pending investigation!

It would be appreciate if you could give a priority to the repair of this hole and help in progressing and resolving this problem.
