Amenity land adjacent to the Broadway
Reported via Android in the Hazardous or dead tree category anonymously at 18:17, Tue 26 August 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 426760.
I reported this again back in June - you replied in July and said that it would be re-strapped and watered.as you can clearly see that has not been done and this tree is now dead. Please arrange to either remove it or replace it.

Hi - the restrapping should have occurred, I will flag this up again. The watering has been occuring on a bi-weekly basis. The prolonged hot and dry weather has unfortunately been a problem for many of our newly planted trees. With weather changing we will monitor going into winter and next Spring. If it does not come back into leaf, we will remove and look to replace as soon as possible.
Many thanks

Nothing happened after your last reply in August until the end of December. Then the strapping and the stakes were just removed rather than fixed but the tree remains tilted over at about 20 degrees off the vertical and does look quite dead.

We do no longer belive that restrapping this tree will correct the lean, so this was not done. Leaning trees are not inherently hazardous, we are happy with the angle. With positive phototropism, it will correct itself over its lifespan.
As to its condition, as previous, if it does not come into leaf this spring then we will remove it.
Many thanks,
