Hi,
I am contacting you in relation to the above.
I am sure that you are aware that this road, similar to many others, has become increasing congested over the years. The key issue with this road is that on may occasions one side of the road is completely taken up with parked cars and the road has been reduced to a one car width and, on occasions, the one car width issue has prevailed from where the Oak Public House is located all the way up to the road entrance to the Church. Even when it is not this long, it can still be very problematic to get up and down it at certain times of the day. The issue is that when the road is lined with cars on one side from bottom to top there is a very lengthy distance where there is no pulling in area and passing is difficult.
You will, I am sure, be aware that certain residents have, at times, taken things into their own hands and have painted yellow lines on the road outside their house and have put their own bollards on the road outside their houses so that they can gain access to their houses. Whilst not condoning their behaviour I do understand it.
I am not sure of the protocol but I would ask if the traffic congestion issue could be looked at in order to hard wire a permanent, council approved, solution into the road.
Maybe some yellow lines opposite a few of the houses that require access would work as they would both guarantee resident access to houses and also hard wire in passing points.
Thank you for your consideration regarding this issue.
Regards,
