Gully at side of road near junction of London Lane and Haynes West End
Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 13:34, Mon 1 September 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 426946.
This grid drain is completely blocked up with mud. Because of this, in wet weather the low side of this corner often holds water and creates flooding on the road surface.
This drain needs to be cleared as a one off urgently, so that autumn and winter rainfall can be managed and surface flooding avoided.
There is another drain nearby on the road surface itself, so it would be worth checking that the routine gully clearing schedule references both drains in this location, as my suspicion is that this one is being missed at present.

I reported this blocked gully in September. During yesterday's heavy rain, as predicted, the lack of drainage caused the road to flood (reported by someone else yesterday). This will happen every time there is heavy rain until this gully is cleared and is quite clearly posing a hazard to road users. Please could you update this report to clarify when the council is going to clear this?
