Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8108689.

The footpath is overgrown, the hedgerow has grown out into the footpath so much and it blocks the pathway. We have been trying to chop back but it gets unmanageable. The trees and hedgerow have grown so far into the footpath and so tall now. I have shown in the pictures further down the footpath as to how it was and where someone maintains it, and the red arrows show where it has overgrown. The footpath is supposed to allow for vehicular access and also more importantly the trees are blocking the drainage from the fields. Now when it rains heavily, the footpath turns into a stream. It need to be cut back thoroughly and the drainage cleared. I have a video of the water but can't attach it. We have done our best over the 19 years that we have lived here to keep on top of it in between the council maintenance because it is not done enough but unfortunately due to health we can't do this and it's got out of control. When it floods it's unpassable for anyone

Updates

  • I walked the path recently and found it to be acceptable. Local volunteers will do a clearance on the hedges etc in the new year.
