Longslade Lane, Beds- whole stretch from Woburn Road to All Saints Church , Bow Brickhilll - Bedfordshire Council

Reported via iOS in the Road Surface category anonymously at 07:25, Wed 3 September 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 427029.

The whole length of this road has been collapsing over the past 18 months, and the road is falling away by approximately 2 feet at both sides, leaving the width of the road suitable for only one car. Passing vehicles, each side of the road, are forced off the crumbling tarmac into a significantly eroded drop of 8-10 inches. Most users are unaware and cannot move over or stop to avoid oncoming traffic, already causing small collisions and near misses. This is a risk to all road users and has already damaged cars/suspension/wheels and tyres, and could cause a cyclist or motorcyclist to come to serious harm. This needs to be addressed urgently before serious accidents are reported.

With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
