Tree on verge between no. 10 & 12

Reported via mobile in the Hazardous or dead tree category anonymously at 13:47, Fri 3 October 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 428383.

Low branch hanging off due to school children swinging on it. Looks like it could snap soon. Other branch with no vegetation is also a prime swinging branch for children!

  • Update on your report:

After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair.

Unfortunately we can't manage our tree stock based on the possibility of children climbing on the branches. Many of our trees have branches low enough to swing on - these branches would only be removed if they are causing obstruction/visibility issues for users of the Highway.

With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council - Highways
