Plough Close Cranfield MK43 0DN
Reported via desktop in the Signs category anonymously at 10:39, Fri 17 October 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 428943.
In Plough Close we are experiencing a significant number of heavy lorries entering the close as the Sat Nav directions are showing it is the shortest route to the housing estate behind the close, the lorries have difficulty in turning round in such a confined space. Plough Close is a no through road and the council have placed signs at the end of the close indicating by red T bars that is there is no way through. These signs simply do not deter drivers and I would like to ask the council to install a proper NO THROUGH ROAD sign at the end of the close on the corner of the High Street please.

Update on your report:
After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair.
With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
Many thanks,
