Immediately after the astwood rd junction travelling along crawley road towards Cranfield

Reported via desktop in the Signs category anonymously at 10:54, Thu 23 October 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 429175.

Hi, I was surprised at your initial response, which seemed to imply a misunderstanding, so I will try to be more clear. The photograph shows the “bend warning 40mph” signs which have been turned through 180º so that the traffic approaching the dangerous bend, which needs see them does not. I dunno if you drove the road to take a look or not. If one wasnt conscious of the problem you might drive past without noticing anything amis. It’s my guess/understanding that traffic notices apply when they are to the left hand side or can be also doubled up on the RHS. This sign is to the LHS of the road so I presume should be read by vehicles approaching Cranfield. Which makes obvious sense when you realise that: if read travelling towards North Crawley, you have already negotiated the dangerous bend. It makes even more sense when you see the aeroplane sign (also 180º rotated) and the location of the runway relative to the sign. Up to you? Also at the same time thinking is this worth my time, because of the poor response, I am only posting stuff thats dangerous to me, the cars go too fast round that bend WITH THE SIGNS, So it would be nice to have someone check it out properly.
