All the way between Leighton Buzzard and Woburn, roads very unsafe this morning
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 10:35, Wednesday 7 January 2026
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 432733.
There was no gritting anywhere on this route last night and the roads this morning were perilous. I'm sure there will have been a signifcant number of accidents today as a result of the lack of salt. My car skidded 2 or 3 times despite driving very carefully. The roundabout junction between the A5 and the road between Woburn and Leighton Buzzard was particularly dangerous. Please can the roads be salted when the weather is cold like this.

Update on your report:
After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair. We will continue to monitor the defect during future inspections and carry out works should it meet our intervention levels in future.
With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
Many thanks,
