Far end of Alameda Walk as the sloped footpath starts outside number 11 Alameda Walk

Reported via mobile in the Salt bins category by Martin Lees at 16:38, Thursday 8 January 2026

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 432837.

No salt bin. Salt bin needed. Am happy to position, fill and use for the residents and elderly who pass in large quantities daily - this footpath is a river when raining and and ice rinked slope when frozen or snowy. Case raised again for a second time (emailed 3 years ago and nothing was done) and closed without the location even being viewed when icy. Case reopened as I cannot reply to the email sent. Reply was to read: I presume the pin drop shown is only an approximate? Because it's in completely the wrong place.

Interesting how a job can be closed as no further action when the footpath hasn't even been viewed. Seems a little far from health and safety assessment to me.

Raising the issue was not even remotely for my benefit and the expense would be at most £100 verses people falling and injuring themselves. The council can take that on themselves. These messages will be my evidence for any injured parties.

I presume with that outcome therefore that the council has no issue with me getting grit salt from the council placed bin outside the primary school I work at in Station Road and taking that back to Alameda Walk and spreading that?

Regards,

M.
