Towards the eastern end of Sand Lane on the northern side
Reported via iOS in the Surface water on Highway category by Frank Firth at 14:12, Saturday 10 January 2026
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 432974.
The blockpave has sunk to such an extent that in in light rainfall surface remains for many days afterwards. The extent of the flood is quite extensive. This has been an on going issue since the build of Lark Rise and was caused by builders supply vehicles parking on the Lane. Over the years it has got progressively worse. Not being an Highway Engineer, but I would suggest that a soak away be the solution to the problem. The extent of water in these freezing conditions could result in an accident

With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
