Pothole - Speed Bump
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 11:03, Monday 12 January 2026
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 433105.
Safety Risk: To avoid the severe impact of the hole, drivers are consistently swerving into the oncoming lane to bypass it. Because the pothole is situated on the approach to the speed bump, motorists are crossing the center line at a point where visibility is obscured by the elevation of the traffic calmer. This behavior is forcing head-on "near-misses" daily. Without immediate intervention, this site is a high-risk candidate for a serious or fatal collision between vehicles, or a strike involving a cyclist who may be forced into the path of traffic.
Requested Action: Emergency inspection and a permanent infill repair to restore the road width and prevent motorists from driving on the wrong side of the road.
