Mount Pleasant View Bistro to Stondon Local

Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category by David Simkins at 11:09, Wednesday 4 February 2026

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 435429.

The whole surface has broken up. Tyres are puncturing on a regular basis, loose stones are being thrown up hitting pedestrians!. I currently use a mobility scooter to access the shop but feel unsafe to do so. Potholes have been reported to no avail. The situation is so bad that only a complete resurface of this section will solve the problem.

  • Update on your report:

After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair. We will continue to monitor the defect during future inspections and carry out works should it meet our intervention levels in future.

With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council - Highways
