Significant hump on surface of the road
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 15:10, Thursday 12 February 2026
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 436435.
Following roadworks some time ago a "hump" of 2"+ was left on the carriageway on the inside of the road.
This causes significant impact on susp[ension when driving over the hump, espeacially as the speed limit here is 40mph.
The hump seems to have white spray paint markings around it and so may have already been identified by authorities as an issue.
It's likely that this defect is going to cause damage to vehicles crossing it eventually

Update on your report:
After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair. We will continue to monitor the defect during future inspections and carry out works should it meet our intervention levels in future.
With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies
