Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 12:43, Wednesday 18 February 2026

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 437102.

The gully and drain as pictured have never been cleared of soil plants and brambles even though the council schedule has Moor End Lane listed on the Gully Cleaning Schedule. How can this be rectified?

The drain along Moor End is completely blocked with soil, weeds and brambles and the run-off water is not getting to the drain. Instead it runs onto the road resulting in massive puddles all along the street that don't drain away, and causes sheet ice when the temperatures drop overnight.

  • Update on your report:

After inspecting the reported issue, our officers have determined that this doesn't currently qualify as a priority for repair. We will continue to monitor the defect during future inspections and carry out works should it meet our intervention levels in future.

With over 1,400km of road to maintain across Central Bedfordshire, we have to prioritise the work we do as detailed in our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP), which can be viewed on the following page of our website https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 55/ transport_roads_and_parking/ 592/ roads_strategies

    Many thanks,
