Pathway to New Leisure Center Houghton Regis from Sundon Road

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 19:54, Saturday 21 March 2026

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 11296.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to report a safety concern on a shared pedestrian and cycle path in my area.

There is a significant amount of loose gravel scattered across the surface of the path, particularly around a pinch point where bollards are installed. This creates a hazardous situation for cyclists and pedestrians alike. The loose stones reduce traction and increase the risk of skidding or falling, especially for cyclists who may already need to adjust their position to navigate the narrow gap.

Given that this path appears to be regularly used, the current condition poses a clear risk of accidents and injury. I would appreciate it if the area could be inspected and the gravel cleared as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you require any further details regarding the location.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Sorin Scorbura
