Cambridge Road footpath

The long footpath along a fast 60mph road is no wider than 30cm most places and has been overgrowing for years, it connects a row of five cottages in Dunton to the rest of the village. The path is not wide enough to walk a dog next to you, push a pram or wheelchair, or walk beside your children and the verge is covered in nettles. I've nearly been clipped so many times by very fast cars and it's frightening.

I am expecting a baby and would not feel safe or able to push a pram or walk a child to the village. There is nothing else around us, so it is our lifeline to community and recreation.

I worry it's leading to a lot of isolation for the cottages as it's the only path to the village (or anywhere at all), and many don't feel safe walking it, including my elderly neighbours and those with children. The only pub in the village is due to reopen and I fear it is either an accident waiting to happen with people trying to walk it more often, or they won't attempt to at all furthering the isolation.

It is only a path but it's having a huge impact on five families every day life. If it could be fixed we would all be so grateful.
