To the side of my house, 16 Owen close, Marston Moretaine
Reported via mobile in the Overhanging private property category anonymously at 19:55, Tuesday 26 May 2026
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 13974.
There is a piece of land to the side of our house that we believe is owned by the council. On the land, there is a large tree that towers over our garden wall and encroaches into our garden.
We would like to know if it is possible to have the tree cut down to a much lower level or removed. This is because it causes a lot of mess in our garden and it is a pain clearing the mess so frequently. Additionally, our garden furniture is at the top of the garden on our decking and just gets covered in leaves and dirt falling from the trees making it unenjoyable to sit there. The tree has a greenfly infestation and blocks the sun light in our garden making it almost unusable to sit in our garden.
Unfortunately, we are unable to move the furniture as it is the only decked area in the garden to put the furniture.
We have tried to maintain the trees from our side of the garden but they are just too large for it to make any difference.
