Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14890.

When the street lights come on in the evening, it is interfering with my car keys lock and unlock buttons.

I believe there may be a fault in the LED lampposts electrical circuit, that is causing radio frequency noise which is interfering with my car and key?

I have moved my car 300 meters up the street and it works fine but when I come back to where I am, the key then doesn’t work within a 100 meters of a certain batch of lampposts.

I am parking outside of 12 Newtown and am experiencing this problem.

Is this common and something that can be looked at? As it only started happening on the 3rd June 2026.

  • Customer has asked for street lights to be inspected as the issues still continues with the cars

  • There are multiple cars on this street that will now not lock during the day as well as at night time.

    This is a big problem as some people cannot lock their cars at all.
