LU7 1HW Lammas walk

I wish to report what I believe are unauthorised white road markings that have been painted on the public highway outside No. 56, Lammas Walk.

Lammas Walk is a council-maintained public road and this section has no designated parking bays or official parking space markings. On 26th June 2025 at approximately I personally witnessed the resident of No. 56 painting white lines directly onto the carriageway. I have photographs showing the individual carrying out the work, together with photographs of the completed markings.

The markings appear intended to create the impression of a private or reserved parking space on a public highway where no such bay exists. This could mislead other motorists into believing the space is officially designated or reserved.

I live in the flats directly opposite and have observed an ongoing pattern of the resident treating this area of the public highway as though it belongs to him. I am concerned that these unauthorised markings have been added to reinforce that claim over a section of road that is available for public use.

I request that the markings are inspected as a matter of priority and, if found to be unauthorised, removed. I also ask that any appropriate enforcement action be considered. Photographic evidence is attached.
