Dear Highways Team,
I am writing to request an update regarding the outstanding highway works outside our property, which remain incomplete almost two years after we moved into our home.
As shown in the attached photographs, there are several issues that have still not been addressed:
* The section of road outside our property has not been resurfaced and remains unfinished. * A section of kerbing at the front of our property is missing and one of your own bin emptying vehicles has punctured the tyre on this today. * The tarmac section at the front of our driveway has never been completed, leaving an unfinished appearance and creating a poor transition between the carriageway and the driveway.
When we purchased the property, we were advised by the developer that these works would be completed by Central Bedfordshire Council as part of the highway adoption process. However, despite living here for nearly two years, no work has taken place and we have received no communication regarding timescales or the current status of these outstanding items.
I appreciate that highway works are subject to scheduling and funding, but after such a significant period without any updates, I feel it is reasonable to request clarification.
Could you please advise:
* Whether these works remain scheduled for completion. * The reason for the delay. * An estimated timescale for when they will be carried out.
I would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience, as it is disappointing that these issues remain unresolved after such a long period.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Georgia Kendall
