Overgrown shrubs and brambles are encroaching over the footway on Cooper Drive, outside/adjacent to number 14, along the street-facing side of the long boundary wall.

The vegetation is spreading from the wall line into the footway/highway area, reducing the clear walking width and creating a potential obstruction for pedestrians, buggies, children and mobility users, particularly where cars are parked nearby.

Central Bedfordshire Council Environmental Services have already reviewed this and advised that they cannot assist with the maintenance directly. They suggested reporting it through FixMyStreet, as Highways may be able to enforce the cutting back of private hedges, shrubs or trees where they obstruct the footpath.

The vegetation has not been confirmed as Council-maintained, and the responsible landowner or maintenance party has not been clearly identified. It would therefore not be appropriate for members of the public to cut it back without authorisation.

Please could Highways inspect this as vegetation obstructing the footway and contact the responsible landowner or maintenance party to require it to be cut back.
