Chicanes on Bedford Road

Reported via mobile in the Road markings and lining category anonymously at 20:55, Wednesday 12 August 2026

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 17299.

The newly installed traffic calming chicanes have a severe layout error. The vertical upright sign instructs traffic traveling to give way. However, the "Give Way" lines have been painted on the floor for the opposite lane traveling. Oncoming drivers facing each other are simultaneously being told they have priority, creating an immediate risk of head on collisions. Please inspect and mask/burn off the incorrect markers urgently before someone is seriously hurt!
